Fall Dinner Theater - "The Foreigner"

I am getting really excited about our dinner theater that will take place this October. As I have sat in on a few rehearsals, I am thrilled with the talented cast we have. The show is spectacularly funny and I find myself doubled over in laughter a lot! A quick plot synopsis follows, but first I have to tell you how excited I am about the menu. We will be serving the best beef brisket I have ever eaten from a Layton barbeque restaurant called "Holy Smoke Barbeque." So, don't miss out on the food and the fun! Get your tickets today!

Synopsis: Have you ever overheard something you wished you hadn't? In our story, pathologically shy Charlie Baker finds himself privy to extensive secrets and intrigue while pretending not to understand English as he vacations in a resort-style fishing lodge in rural Georgia. Instigator of Charlie's situation is his raucous friend Staff Sergeant Froggy LeSueur. Upon arriving at the inn, Froggy claims his companion is the native of an exotic country who does not understand a word of English and as his fellow guests come into the picture, he can't keep from being involved in their crazy antics! These fellow guests include spoiled but introspective heiress and Southern belle Catherine Simms and the man to whom she is somewhat reluctantly engaged, and impregnated by, the Reverend David Lee, a seemingly humble preacher with a dark underside. Her younger sister, Ellie, a chubby and somewhat "slow" young lady is a simpleton who tries to teach Charlie how to speak English. Owen Musser, the racist county property inspector, plans to oust property owner Betty Meeks and convert the lodge into a meeting place for the Ku Klux Klan.

Great entertainment, great food, and a night you are sure to remember! When: Oct. 14th - 17th Time: 7:00pm Cost: $18.00 per person Where: Community Arts Center, 120 S. Main Click here to purchase tickets or call 801-451-0953
